There’s a lot going on!
You may have heard about some of it, you may not.
We’ll keep it short.
If you visit The Pelican Reef, then you’ll want to read to the very end.
You may have noticed the renovation in the downstairs event room at The Pelican Reef.
We’re making it cooler. Way cooler.
(Cooler in temperature. Not cooler like The Fonz.)
Here’s the deal.
Over the past few weeks we’ve installed a section of insulation all around the room.
This has sealed up most of the leaks and cracks for the cool air.
And now when you go downstairs you’ll notice it cooler than ever!
There is already a difference of 5 to 7 degrees in the place during day, even more at night.
Just from that one change.
So now you can enjoy the bands, your friends, and your food during the dog days of summer without breaking a sweat!
And that’s not all.
There’s plans to add new windows, renovate the downstairs bar, and we’re doing some upgrades on the roof!
In just a few weeks, this will almost be a new room!
Just in time for our next 2nd Saturday Party on Auguest 12th featuring a 10-piece brass band.
More on that later.
Before that, we’re kicking off our new open mic night format.
Here’s what that’s all about.
Each Thursday, we’re going to be showcasing some amazing local talent on Thursday nights.
If you’re music fan, then you’ll want to stop in and listen for a bit.
This week, you can catch 4 amazing musicians.
Your hosts are Justin Gipson of Camm Lewis and the Live Oaks, Levon Gray, Drew Nix of the Red Clay Strays, and Abe Partridge.
They’ll each be playing tunes.
And if you’re a musician, then here’s the best part – You can come down and join in!
Come sign up for a three-song set under the lights!
And this Thursday night is special.
Because we’ll be filming some video for upcoming promotions.
If you happen to see the video camera around, then be sure to smile big!
The main focus on Thursdays will be on the music, so you’ll want to be here and listen.
But who knows… maybe you’ll just get your chance at becoming a video star!
In any case, be sure to get here Thursday night for the showcase of local musicians.
It’ll be fun.
Keep your eyes and ears open for more information on the next 2nd Saturday Party at The Pelican Reef.
See you tomorrow night.
